Giveaway: Chex

Chex Mix is a staple during the holidays but I learned last year there is a whole new world of Chex recipes out there.  I found a recipe for Snickerdoodle Chex Mix in the paper and it was such a hit that I wound up making many, many batches of it for various parties.

I grew up with Chex Mix being made in the oven and it took a long time to make.  I've since learned that most of the recipes can be made in the microwave in just a matter of minutes.  In fact, I now demo a few Chex Mix recipes at my Tupperware parties.

Now through Christmas Day, Chex cereals are on sale at the Kroger family of stores.  Stock up for those holiday parties and buy a few extra boxes for the rest of football season while they are on sale.

I have two boxes of Chex cereal and a $25 gift card to Kroger to give away to one lucky winner.  Giveaway will be open until Monday, Dec. 20 at 9 pm CST.  Winner will have 48 hours to respond.

To enter, tell me your favorite recipe using Chex.  Please leave a valid email address with your entry if it is not available in your profile.

Giveaway: Hamburger Helper

Hamburger Helper is partnering with Tim McGraw to help Feeding America provide meals, through the Show Your Helping Hand Campaign, to local food banks.  You can support the campaign by submitting codes from specially marked packages of Hamburger Helper.

Here is what they have to say about the donation:

Hamburger Helper has already donated more than half a million dollars and will contribute up to an additional $100,000 to Feeding America through this program. Don’t think one code will make a difference? The 17 cents Hamburger Helper donates per code is enough for Feeding America to deliver one meal to a local food bank.

In honor of this program I was sent a Hamburger Helper prize pack to review.  I'm not a huge fan of boxed dinner mixes but my husband likes them so I keep them around for a quick dinner.  The day after this arrived was complete chaos in my house so I grabbed the box for an easy dinner.  Seeing as it hardly took me any time to make, it tasted delicious in the midst of the craziness going on in my house.

I have a prize pack for one lucky reader too.  Included in this pack is a box of Hamburger Helper, a foam "Helping Hand" and Tim McGraw's "Southern Voice" CD.

To enter, leave me a comment sharing your favorite frugal way(s) to lend a helping hand.  Giveaway is open until Sunday, Dec. 16 at 9 pm CST.  Please leave a valid email address if one is not available in your profile.

Old El Paso Family Taco Night

During this busy time of year it is so easy to get lost in the busyness and forget to spend quality time with your family.  Old El Paso is encouraging families to have Family Taco Night once a month.  For our Family Taco Night we searched the Old El Paso site and found a recipe for taco pie to try. It was a nice change from our normal tacos and my toddler devoured it so that was a bonus.

Old El Paso has generously given me a Family Taco Night prize pack to give to one of my readers.  This pack includes a package of Old El Paso taco seasoning, a cactus chip and dip set, 3 fiesta chili pepper serving dishes, and $10 to purchase your taco fixings.

This giveaway will be open until Tuesday, Dec. 7 at 9 pm CST.  In order to enter, please tell me your favorite family night activity.

Our family has been a fan of Pillsbury frozen biscuits for awhile now so I was excited when I learned they now have a mini version.  We like the biscuits because we don't have to open an entire can when we just need a biscuit or two.

I was very excited to try the mini biscuits as I'm trying to lose weight and they are only 70 calories each, which is much less than a regular sized biscuit.  Unfortunately, I have not been able to find them in our local stores.  If you happen to see them, let me know where. I'm planning on trying mini strawberry shortcakes and mini egg sandwiches with them.  I think my boys will like the sandwiches for a quick breakfast that is just their size.

In the meantime, I used the regular biscuits to make egg, sausage, and cheese sandwiches for us.  I love to make up a bunch of these and freeze them individually for a quick breakfast throughout the week.

My BlogSpark and Pillsbury have generously offered my readers a $1.00 off coupon and a chance to win a prize pack. Included in this prize pack is a coupon for free mini biscuits, biscuit basket, butter dish and spreader, and a gift card to purchase ingredients for your own mini biscuit creations.

To enter:
1. Leave a comment telling me how you would use mini biscuits in a recipe.
